MA LIPSTICK IS POPPIN'

Lil Kim wrote a full song once about lip gloss... Rightfully so.

Recently I have become obsessed with lips, more specifically: Lipstick.

And it's all about the MAC MAC MAC!!

Mac has taken the beauty industry by storm, it's everywhere and after being a fan for quite some time I think it's time I do a post about some of my mac faves. (Instead of just hounding instagram with photos of my lips.)

I don't know what it is about experimenting with different colours but I genuinely get excited, when I walk up to that counter and see all those luscious reds, creamy nudes, sleek mattes or pastel pinks staring back at me? It's a beautiful thing.

Unfortunately my bank account doesn't agree but hey ho.

From miss sporty cherry lipgloss and freebies in kiddy magazines to these beauts, here's some fave's you 100% have to try if you haven't already and I am looking to add more (currently in my 'I love but can't afford' wishlist) very shortly.

Touch and Cork

I had never wore brown before, but since going back to dark hair again I found pinks and reds looked a bit brash (on me anyways), so I tried something different. Touch - it's satin based however if you first apply cork all over your lips, it mattifies the whole look -  not so matte that you feel like you're applying sand paper though. Both are super moisturising and stays on for literally ages. I have officially crossed over to the dark side.
I think this matches any make-up style and you can make it suit any occasion. Brown definitely make's a statement. I seen people wearing neutral or brown type lipsticks all the time and they always looked amazing, so this definitely turns heads. I literally feel that brown colours change the way your whole face looks and it suits brunnettes AND blondes so that's a bonus.
Outlining your lips, a big craze at the minute (thanks to Kylie Jenner) worked so well with these two colours. Cork is pretttttty much a direct match to touch and so it makes a perfect outline as it's barely noticeable and they blend together really well. Your lips look huge!!!
I find adding Maybelline 24 hour lipstick really adds to this look. ONLY apply the colour side, and it dries matte. Because touch is so moisturising it stops your lips feeling dry which can be a problem with mattes over all but this works wonders.
Try it, see if it works for you?

Lingering Kiss and Nightmoth

Not my usual. I told you - I was experimenting! This is an intense blackish purple and satin based lipstick. I felt a bit brave when I seen this in the store and thought 'why not?', it looks pretty lethal to be honest with you, but for them days where I may be feeling a bit dark or if I ever fancy the 'vampy' look, I know where to turn among my mac selection.
I think this (and this is opinion only) would look better on darker hair. I tried it when I was blonde and now I have dark hair, and I feel I suit it more now just because it is pretttttty intense, but if you apply it softly it looks less severe. It's a nice application and if you fancy a game changer or changing things up a bit then, hello, this is what mac you need to be at.
It stays on forever, and the liner matches perfectly. Definitely use a liner with this one because it can look a bit messy without that clean, neat outline, to change this lip-look up even more though, add a clear gloss. That tends to look really classy and stands out a lot.
You can have fun with this and if worn right it looks fan-dabby-dosey.

Brave and In anticipation

Quickly becoming my new favourite - Brave! I have heard great things alllllll over the internet about this one; a lot of people use this in makeup tutorials and apparently it's the perfect colour to use if you're wanting those Kylie Jenner lips? I read that somewhere too. Regardless, I can see why there's such a buzz about this one. My housemate has been after it for months and it's repeatedly been sold out, much to her dismay I managed to waltz in and put my hands on it straight away. Sorry Lauren (haha)
This is a more natural colour. It's a mix between pink and beige, It's creamy and easy to apply as it's satin based. This would even look good on it's own but I am a firm believer in: you can't buy a MAC lippy without the liner so...
I paired it with 'In anticipation' - Not my first choice but they actually work well. I originally wanted soar as this is what a lot of people having being ranting on about but they were sold out. In anticipation is still absolutely lush however, perhaps just slightly more reddy and it isn't matte but hey ho. A girl can never have too many liners!
They both feel like actual silk on your lips, these two would look great during the day for a neutral look or you can layer them up for a more dramatic impact. Lush! Love them.
If you buy any lipstick - make it this one!!!!

Chatterbox and Candy yum-yum

Pink to make the boys wink? Everyone needs a pink lippy to be honest, whether you're making the boys wink or not. I picked this one honestly just because it was the first pink I seen and was actually my first MAC lipstick but I love it. It's kind of a rose colour (I will post a better picture soon) as this one isn't the best. Same as the others, satin based and has a nice gloss look. The lip liner is reallllllly pink but not too barbie ish. I do think this would look unreal on blondes but I like it on me as a brunette too!
The two colours blend really well and the liner makes the overall lips look pinker if you apply enough so you can vary the colour you're after. Tbh, I struggle to buy a MAC lipstick without a liner but this lipstick I think goes beautifully on it's own too so if you're saving the pennies then chatterbox is where you need to be.
If you're after a girly look then look no further!

you can see how accurate of a match they all are and hopefully this gives you a bit of a better idea!
I say these are my favourites but honestly? MAC has such a wide variety and I haven't had the time nor funds to get round no where near as many of them as I would like to!!! I won't buy a lipstick from anywhere else though. Until shown a better alternative. So any purchases made will 100% end up on this blog. They have a huge MATTE range that I need to explore and I am in desperate need of a bright vintage red, a nice nude and a few more pinks.
To any girl who has yet to try MAC lipsticks, do! And thank me later.

MORE COLOURS AND PHOTOS COMING VERY SOON (WILL BE UPDATED)
