SIMPLE HAIR HACKS YOU NEED TO KNOW.

Hair is literally the bane of my life, as I'm sure it is for many other girls.

It just never seems to go, y'know ... right. Most of the time resulting in it being shoved up in a pony tail or left to hang like a sack of potatoes.

... Is that the right metaphor to use?

Anyway, here are some hair hacks you 100% need to try.
They look effortless AND literally require no effort at all, win/win!

QUICK CURLS

Want to curl your hair but don't have enough time? No problem.
Just put your hair in a really high pony, and split it in to 3-8 sections (depending on the thickness of your hair.) Curl each section, remove the pony and tah-dah ... natural looking loose curls in a jiffy, sorted.

DOUBLE PONY TAIL TRICK

I am forever wanting a lusciously thick, longer looking pony tail but naturally, I don't have luscious, long or thick hair. So, if you're like me start by pulling your hair in to a high pony tail and tie it in a bobble. This makes your hair look thicker and more volumed.
Now for the trick. Take the rest of your hair and pull it in to a second pony tail about 1-3 inches below your first, depending on the length of your hair. This adds length!! Tah dah
HAIR SPRAY YOUR HANDS

Boys do this with gel so I thought I'd try it with hairspray. Bit sticky so wash your hands after (obv) but this is great for a more natural look and if you don't want your hair to looked glued stiff. Just spray your hands and tussle through your hair.

MAKE YOUR BOBBY PINS STICKY

Odd but works - spray these little pests (your bobby pins) but pests because you buy 100 and in a week you struggle to find 2. Regardless, find them, spray them, put them in and they should stay in place longer. Dry shampoo can also be used as an alternative to hairspray.
Allow them to dry before using them.

DRY YOUR HAIR UPSIDE DOWN AND WITH COOL AIR

After you've dried the majority of the wet from your hair, alternate between dry and warm temperatures and finish off with cool air. This helps your style stay in place and adds more volume and surprisingly, shine.
Drying your hair upside down or giving your hair a finishing cool blow while having your head tipped forward (upside down) will add tons of volume and bounce to your root. You'll never look back.

RINSE YOUR HAIR WITH COLD WATER

After washing your hair, rinse with cold water. Not so cold that you can't bring yourself to stand under it but cold. I read this in a 'Bratz' magazine when I was about 10 and never forgot it. This helps add shine to your hair and prevents your hair from getting as greasy. This was Chloe's tip (in the Bratz book) and she always had the best hair. (Yes, I know she's not real) but y'know ...
Enough silly talk, I'll back this up with facts. Warm water opens your hair cuticles allowing shampoo and conditioner to do their job but cold water closes them, sealing in the moisture from the conditioner.

PULL EACH CURL

After curling your hair, give each little curl a light tug. This sounds silly but it will help make the curls look more natural and less fake!

PONY TAIL BOBBY PIN TRICK

After putting your hair in a pony tail, put two bobby pins upright on to the front of your bobble. This will give your pony tail more volume and adds a little more to it really easily.

WAVY SIDE DOWN

Yes we've been lied to our whole lives.

But, bobby pins are supposed to be worn wavy side down. Better grip, apparently. (I only say apparently because I'm still hurt from the lie.)

SLEEP WITH A BEENIE ON AFTER WASHING YOUR HAIR

Wash your hair, stick on a beenie, and let it dry naturally. Prevents frizz and it's healthier for your hair!

You'll have a great sleep too.

BEACH BOHO WAVES

Want beach hair but not sure how to get it? I used to put my damp hair in plaits and sleep with them in but my tended to stay damp. So now I just plait my hair DRY about 8 times and go over the plaits a few times with the straighteners.

Do this a few times and hold the straighteners there for a few seconds, then undo your plaits and shake your head. Spray your hands with hairspray and finish this look off. Simple!

THE LOOPED PONY TAIL

To glam up the pony tail a little bit try this simple and easy to do loop.
Pony tail your hair and use two fingers to create a gap in it. Pull your ponytail through the gap and tighten it up by pulling your ponytail gently at both sides underneath the loop. Then just neaten up!
